Dramaturgy in Mozart’s Piano Concertos

The research grew out of a reflection developed within musicological studies and, in particular, from my encounter with the thought of Pierluigi Petrobelli, whose work played a decisive role in directing my attention to the interconnections between opera and instrumental music in the eighteenth century.
From this perspective, the thesis approaches Mozart’s piano concertos as spaces of dramatic interaction between soloist and orchestra: not a mere alternation of roles, but a dialogue shaped by narrative and theatrical principles, in close continuity with the composer’s operatic thinking.
