The Easter Monday Concert 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the ICNT Orchestra.

Program:

— Johannes Brahms, Akademische Festouvertüre (Academic Festival Ouverture) op.80

— Robert Schumann, Cello Concert in A minor op.129

— Johannes Brahms, Symphony no.4 in E minor op.98

The choice of this program comes from the desire to take on a challenge.

These are demanding works, both technically and musically, requiring focus, endurance, and a strong sense of ensemble.

Schumann and Brahms are closely connected: Schumann was among the first to recognize Brahms’s talent and publicly support him, leading to a lasting artistic and personal relationship, also involving Clara Schumann.

Musically, the contrast is clear.

Brahms builds dense, structured, sometimes massive textures (even when the character is lighter, as in the overture).

Schumann moves in a more lyrical and introspective direction.

Placing these works side by side means moving across different aspects of German Romanticism.

The soloist will be cellist Lara Biancalana.

At the orchestra’s first concert in 2016, she was thirteen and played within the ensemble. She returns now, ten years later, as a soloist.
