After my summer engagements in Italy, my musical activities continue in South Korea, where on 22 August I will conduct The Classic On Elim Cantabile at the Arts Center Incheon Concert Hall in Incheon.

The concert brings together The Classic On Orchestra and Elim Cantabile Orchestra, two Korean youth ensembles with a strong commitment to music education. Founded in 2001 as the Ilsan Youth Orchestra, The Classic On Orchestra has developed an extensive concert and educational activity, including international performances. Elim Cantabile Orchestra traces its origins to the Elim Cantabile Ensemble, founded in 2009, and combines regular performances with an ongoing commitment to nurturing young musicians.

The programme features overtures, concertos and ensemble works by Rossini, Mercadante, Wieniawski, Dvořák, Scott Joplin, Devienne and Saint-Saëns. The young soloists of the two orchestras will take centre stage throughout the evening, which concludes with The Carnival of the Animals for orchestra and two pianos.

Among the soloists will be my son, violinist Leonardo Camiz, performing the first movement of Henryk Wieniawski's Violin Concerto No. 2.

I am very pleased to take part in this project and to collaborate with these two Korean musical organisations, sharing this new international experience with so many young musicians.
