On Sunday, 2 August 2026, at 6:00 pm, I will have the pleasure of conducting the Enotria Wind Ensemble at the Collegiata di San Giovanni Battista in Chianciano Terme, as part of the I Suoni di Sillene concert series, organised by Istituzione Sinfonica Italia Classica.

The programme is entirely devoted to the Romantic repertoire for wind ensemble, a formation capable of combining transparency, tonal richness and a remarkable variety of expression.

We will open the concert with Gaetano Donizetti’s Sinfonia for Winds in G minor, A.509, an early work in which the composer’s melodic invention and natural theatrical instinct are already clearly recognisable.

This will be followed by Joachim Raff’s Sinfonietta for Winds, Op.188, widely regarded as one of the masterpieces of nineteenth-century chamber music for winds, thanks to its balance of formal elegance, lyricism and brilliant instrumental writing.

We will conclude with three of Antonín Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances, Op.46 — Nos. 3, 4 and 7 — performed in an arrangement for wind octet that preserves the rhythmic energy, colour and immediacy of the original versions.

This concert marks my first artistic collaboration with the Enotria Wind Ensemble, formed by the musicians of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Cosenza, with which I have already had the pleasure of working in the past. It will therefore be particularly interesting to explore together a programme that brings out the full expressive potential of the wind ensemble.
